The story of Salone del Mobile in Milan dates back to 1961 with the aim of helping furniture Italian companies to the commercialization and creating in those years the “Cosmit”, the Italian Organising Committee of Salone del Mobile. At the end of 1960s this event assumed an international character, becoming so a current reference point at a global level.

What is Fuori Salone
Fuori Salone is an event which takes place in conjunction with Salone del Mobile, it is not an exhibition and is not planned by any Institution, but it was created spontaneously by companies inside and outside Milan which, simultaneously with the most important world fair of the Design Week, have decided to open their showrooms to the thousands people already visiting the fair.
Over the years this event has become so important and engaging to transform some Milan streets into real high design showrooms, attracting a lot of visitors looking for originality and new ideas about furniture.
